Cape Lookout Black drum

Black drum are one of my favorite inshore fish to eat, and are plentiful this time of year so I snuck out recently with a couple of friends from the Saltwater Angler’s Network to see if we could put a few in the box. We not only found them, we found a bunch of them. Fresh (frozen) shrimp on jigheads as well as some on soft plastic baits did the trick. If you’re interested in a trip, Contact us.

    • Hey Cliff, it can be a great area to fish. I usually launch at Radio Island or the West Beaufort boating access next to Town Creek Marina when I’m fishing the Newport river.
