Crappie Trout Fishing

Steve and Scott hopped on with me for a day of speckled trout fishing and once we had our fix of that the plan was to go searching for panfish. After about two hours of trout fishing and only one fish to show for our effort we decided to see if the panfish would play. That turned out to be a great decision as we put 15 keeper crappie in the boat and a solid 35 to 40 bluegill. The speckled trout fishing may have wound up crappie, but that’s ok they taste better anyways.

Cape Lookout Black drum

Black drum are one of my favorite inshore fish to eat, and are plentiful this time of year so I snuck out recently with a couple of friends from the Saltwater Angler’s Network to see if we could put a few in the box. We not only found them, we found a bunch of them. Fresh (frozen) shrimp on jigheads as well as some on soft plastic baits did the trick. If you’re interested in a trip, Contact us.
